Some say the history of the Herb Market goes back to the early days of Portland, with the construction of Christopher square, in 1740, where people of Portland would meet to enjooy the market, but also to discuss political and other city matters.

With the revival of natural medicine in the sixties and seventies, the Herb Market definitely established itself as a landmark of the Portland alternative shopping scene. 

Today, you can visit the Herb Market to buy medicinal plants, supplements, herbal teas, but also to enjoy a cup of tea with homemade treats in the dining corner.
